MINIATURE BALL BEARINGS
Miniature ball bearings are useful in a wide variety of applications. Bearings in general are devices that allow parts to move relative to one another in a constrained fashion. This motion may be linear or in rotation. The two most common types of bearings are plain bearings and rolling bearings. The most well-known of the rolling variety of bearings is the ball. A ball bearing can be highly effective at reducing friction between two parts that need to move freely. There is some elasticity to the ball allowing it to support and move a range of bearing loads. Naturally, the balls in such bearings come in a variety of different sizes, from fairly large to miniature. Small Bearings can be extremely useful in applications where space is limited, such as aerospace products and medical devices.
Miniature Ball Bearings are small bearings with balls as their rolling elements. These small bearings have an outside diameter of less than (<9.525 mm) or are small bearings with an outside diameter less than or equal to ½” (≤ 12.7 mm) having a ration of outside diameter to inside diameter equal to or less than two.
For miniature ball bearings, single-row deep groove radial ball bearings are the most common type of miniature ball bearings, having a wide range of suitable applications. The raceway grooves on both inner and outer rings have circular arcs of slightly larger radius than that of the balls. In addition to radial loads, axial loads can be applied in either direction. Because of their low torque, they offer high speed operation with low power loss. miniature ball bearings and instrument radial ball bearings are made with very high levels of precision, therefore these are generally used in applications where accurate rotational performance and low torque is necessary, and load capacity
SRG's wide variety of miniature bearings means that you are certain to find just the bearings you are looking for. Use the bearings search fields to find the bearings you need. Search by bearings size according to inch or metric measurement and by inside diameter size and outside diameter size.
